Not the 'disappointing' Mabena
The name 'Mabena' has been associated with disappointments in recent times- but Ndumiso Mabena- is not the disappointing one. Bloemfontein Celtic skipper is rattling the net for his side. Mabena has found his scoring boots again, managing to score two goals in two consecutive matches- for the city of roses based outfit. Mabena is a seasoned campaigner and should lead from the front especially when the chips are down. One need not read too much into the score line against Mamelodi Sundowns, but the perfomance Lehlohonolo Seema' charges have put in. Celtic's off field problems did not hamper their perfomance on it and credit must go to leaders in the team. Mabena as the captain of the visibly sinking ship comes to the party when his name is called upon. Football is a team sport but it is individuals who can be counted on to make that team. It is Mabena's job to score goals but his leadership needs to be applauded. Celtic has lost against a side boasting a squad head and shoulders above the rest in the league. Surely Seema will take something positive out of that loss and build on it. Mabena is a leader and lethal goal poacher- Celtic's goalscoring problem is sorted. Mabena is far from disappointing.
