When Tottenham Hotspur spent 26 million pounds on Roberto Soldado, all fans, including myself, thoght that our goalscoring woes would be a thing of the past. Goals did start getting scored, but not by Soldado, by Harry Kane.
Harry Kane is, arguably, one of the best strikers in the world and he didn't cost Tottenham a cent. He is an academy graduate who managed to grab his chance when Mauricio Pochettino gambled on him. Kaizer Chiefs have struggled for goals the whole season, constantly changing strikers, perhaps now is the time for Steve Khomphela to gamble on Emmanuel Letlotlo.
Tottenham's success this season is due, in part, to Pochettinos high press system, but also the energy in his squad, Tottenham have one of the youngest squads in the BPL, Kane, Lamela, Alli, Rose, Mason, Bentaleb, etc are still very young and have their best years ahead of them.
Kaizer Chiefs are in the exact opposite situationwith an ageing squad that's made up of players who simply don't have the legs to compete at the top anymore. Im not suggesting Khomphela should go out and buy kids, but it wouldn't be such a bad thing to give the likes of Letlotlo and Malope a chance. Who knows they might just end up following a similar path to Harry Kane's.
