It is that time of the year where soccer lovers are treated with fantastic entertainment.. It’s the beautiful game, like Pele called it. The EPL started with a bang, and the PSL also started like a house on fire, as we saw some eye catching results in the first matches of 2016/2017 season. The MTN8 also spoiled us with some good tactical football and left two Soweto giants with their tails in between their legs.
Last season, the Amakhosi fans where not happy at all with the results Steve Komphela brought and they ended the season with nothing to brag about. It was Steve's first season at Naturena, yet the supporters felt that he could have done better with the facilities and players he had available. They called for his head in the end and it looked like things will change this season when they clinched the Carling Black Label Cup against their arch rivals, Orlando Pirates. But it wasn't to be as they went on and lost their first league game against the highly tactical Wits and lost against the PSL Rookies Cape Town City in the MTN8 Quarter finals.
Who can remember 6 November 1986, in Sir Alex Ferguson's first season at United? Sir Alex didn't have a fantastic two seasons, as he fought for relegation both seasons. At a point he was 19th and finished 13th in his first season. The following season he ended 2nd on the log. From then on Fergie bossed the EPL and became the most successful boss in its history.
should Amakhosi learn from Fergie's situation and be patient with Komphela for another season?
