Khoza Was Right To Stick With Tinkler

Eric Tinkler has suffered immense pressure and criticism for most part of this season, and his team is way off first place Mamelodi Sundowns.

Their league campaign has been a very disappointing one and Irvin Khoza was expected by many to relieve Tinkler of his duties but he hasn't and that decision is beginning to pay dividends. Orlando Pirates have begun to find a bit of form and consistency and are now only three points off fourth placed Kaizer Chiefs.

This of course is not the position Pirates supporters want to see their team in, but considering how horrible their start to this campaign was this is a vast improvement. Plenty of goals have been scored and only a few conceded in their last eight games are stats that would put a smile on any chairmans face. Tinkler also lead the Buccanneers to the final of the CAF Confederations cup,

He has also had to deal with injuries to key personnel such as Oupa Manyisa, Thabo Matlaba, Brighton Mhlongo etc. The Iron Duke could have easily been forgiven if he decided to cut his losses and part ways with Tinkler but to his credit he stood by the under fire coach and backed him. We have already seen the benefits of sticking with a coach this season when Motsepe chose not to fire Mosimane when times were tough for the Chloorkop club and, by the look of things, Irvin Khoza is also starting to get repaid handsomely for sticking with Tinkler.
