Kaizer Chiefs has had a poor season after the departure of their head Coach Stuart Baxter and some of their Key Players like Mandla Masango and Tefu Mashamaite
They also failed to keep Knowledge Musona. In those positions the Glamour Boys brought in Steve Komphela as Baxter's successor, and Players: Cardoso, Xulu, Manqele, Abraw, Ndulula and Twala to mention a few. Those changes hasn't delivered any silverware this season, even though Chiefs has been in two domestic finals and lost them both against Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.
Things went from bad to worse for the Phefeni Boys when they were knocked out by their arch rivals Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup round 32, and recently Amakhosi were eliminated by Ivory Coast Giants ASEC Mimosa in the CAF Championship. This is a perfect opportunity for Kaizer Chiefs to revamp their squad.
This season has proven to Chiefs that they have an ageing team, with players like Masilela, Gaxa, Tshabalala, Letsholonyene, Katsande, Parker and Gould reaching their early and mid thirties, and they could lose Mathoho should his desire to play overseas goes according to plan.
Chiefs desperately need young talented players. Recently reports suggest Chiefs could be planning to lure Gavin Hunt from Bidvest Wits for next season, should that move happen and Chiefs break the bank for new players, glory days might be back at Naturena.
This is my Kaizer Chief's Dream Team:
(GK)Itumeleng Khune
(RB)Kgotso Moleko
(CB)Ricardo Coetzee
(CB)Lorenzo Gordinho
(LB)Mosa Lebusa
(RW)Phakamani Mahlambi
(CDM) Lucky Baloyi
(CAM)Sibusiso Vilakazi
(LW)Reyaad Norodien
(CF)Thapelo Morena
(ST)Evans Rusike
Subs: Brilliant Khuzwayo/Reyaad Pieterse, Daniel Cardoso, Siyanda Xulu, George Maluleka, George Lebese, William Twala and Emmanuel Letlotlo.
This "Dream Team" can bring back the glory days at Naturena, guided by Gavin Hunt.
Should Kaizer Chiefs break the bank and invest in this "Dream Team" and could Gavin Hunt be the right man to bring back the glory days at Naturena?
Let us know who would make your dream team in the comments section below.
