Is Chiefs’ Management Picking The Team?

The signing of players seems to be the problem between the Kaizer Chiefs' coach and their management.

Looking at last season’s performances and the players that Chiefs have brought in during the pre-season, one could say that these players were imposed on the coach. With those kind of performances, Chiefs should have gone out to find top quality players with the recommendation of the technical staff and without the influence of management.

It is inevitable that the new players were forced on the coach using the organizations recruitment policy, which seems to recommend Zimbabwe as the final recruitment area for the acquisition of Kaizer Chief’s players. Ironically, none of the new players look good enough to be in the starting line-up, except Ramahlwe Mphahlele, who came in through the back door because Tower is injured.

This raises more question than answers, why do you replace 20 zebras with another 10 zebras? What results do you anticipate with such a notion? Why do Chiefs in bring players who can’t go straight to the first team? Are Chiefs signing players to impress the fans and give the media enough news for their coverage or it to better their playing staff?

The likelihood is that Mr Komphela is powerless in the signing of players. if he had recommended all these players, he should have fielded them all, however, because this is Bobby’s team, he is the one recommending and signing these players and Komphela is simply doing his job which is to coach the available playing personnel.

Do you agree with the way the team is being run?
