Kaizer Chiefs’ players need a coach with discipline, and Gavin Hunt is exactly that coach.
Steve Komphela is a good coach but he's a bit too soft for the players. Players tend to lose focus if they have too much freedom...or lack fear or respect for a coach.
Good discipline leads to good decision making and that leads to good results. Hunt has that mentality of getting silverware, while Steve has always been building. Of course the players should take responsibility too, but he's the man in charge. He comes up with the plans, he sets the squad, he makes substitutions. During the transfer window, he was there selecting the players he can work with.
It looks like his decisions are not bearing fruit...as of yet. And time is not on his side. The season is very harsh. There are no small teams. If you are not getting results...you'll be eliminated.
Do you think Gavin Hunt is the answer to Chiefs problems?
