How To Beat Nigeria – Reader’s Voice

Coming from a very good game against Egypt, we have to focus on our next opponent, Nigeria. Against Egypt, the Egyptian coach may have watched Bafana Bafana videos and nowhere did he see or hear about Thembinkosi Lorch, making him in effect our secret weapon.

Now going up against Nigeria, we no longer have a secret weapon. However, we have two options, either play Percy Tau as false nine or go with Lars Veldwijk up front.

Yes Lebo Mothiba was influential in our last game but Nigeria will go in to the quarter-finals encounter knowing that Stuart Baxter's front line selection is predictable.

That said, I believe we could playTau and Lorch out wide and use Lars as target man. We have seen his runs and I believe that he still needs to get a proper chance to prove himself in the national team.
