With just over a week to go before the transfer window closes, we have seen a lot of players moving in and out of the top division. Now, with it almost all said and done, has any team done well than Mamelodi Sundowns?
The league champions lost a lot of great players during the transfer window, with the likes of Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Bongani Zungu and Cuthbert Malajila all parting ways with the team. Any other club would struggle to survive after losing players of that quality. However, Sundowns remain favourites to win the league.
This is largely because Sundowns have replace quality players with players that are of an even higher level of quality. They may also have signed less players than they lost, but it just means that the squad has been trimmed of some of its fat.
Vilakazi, Morena, Nascimento, and Mohomi are all quality and if Sundowns are also about to bring Ivorian number 10, Zakri and Anele Ngcongca to Chloorkop, things could get even better.
However, Chiefs and Pirates have just signed average players and the links with Ntshangase and Rusike have died down, and they were last options for Chiefs to be competitive. Pienaar was also was the last option for Pirates.
Only Wits and SuperSport have signed better than what they had and, with good coaches like Hunt and Baxter, they could be stronger than last season.
The transfer window about to close, which team has done the best business?
