Kaizer Chiefs have had one of their worst starts to a PSL season, having played two official games and having lost them both, and many football fans have started to write Chiefs' 2016/17 obituary already.
However, we have seen how football can humble people at times, and perhaps it is too early to pin Chiefs to the ground already. The reason that people should not write Chiefs off just yet is because we have seen many teams having a terrible to start, only to finish the season on a high note.
The most recent one being current champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, whose fans were on the verge of throwing Pitso out of the club last season if they had their way, only for Pitso to resurrect the team and go on a very long unbeaten run. So sometimes you can start bad and finish on a high.
Could Chiefs emulate Downs? This is something that can be done, starting with the game against Platinum Stars. It can take one good game to reignite the spark of confidence in the team and suddenly they become world beaters. Pitso did it and maybe now it’s Komphela’s turn.
Do you think Chiefs can emulate Downs and turn the corner?
