Thulani 'Cream' Serero finds himself in a precarious position at Ajax Amsterdam. After being frozen out of the first-team and having his jersey number taken from him, it was clear that he has no future at the Dutch club.
There is no doubt about his talent and he shouldn't find it hard to secure a deal elsewhere. However, a return to South Africa could just be what the 27-year-old needs to revive his career. The Soweto-born player seems an ideal signing for Kaizer Chiefs and it could be a match made in heaven for both parties, should any deal materialise in the upcoming transfer window.
Kaizer Chiefs have failed in their efforts to make a big name signing recently and have been reduced to mediocrity, with the Soweto Giants currently languishing in 5th position in the PSL log after suffering a second successive trophyless season.
Coach, Steve Komphela, has been under fire recently, whilst fans have also criticised Bobby Motaung for his transfer policies and methods which haven't really been ideal for a big team like Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs are in need of a creative attacking midfielder in the form of 'Cream', a player who has flair and vision to unlock defences and can score a few goals as well.
So it makes sense for the club to make him their top priority since his contract will be expiring at the end of the current Dutch season.
With Sundowns and Orlando Pirates also currently monitoring the player's situation with interest, Chiefs would need to act smartly and quickly to secure his services and give their fans something to look forward to for the new season.
