Mamelodi Sundowns’ winning momentum seems to be shrinking, with the club having now played three matches in a row, without registering any win, but managed to draw on two occasion and suffered one defeat on continental duties.
One has to ask what went wrong, and, honestly, nothing is wrong. It’s just that the absence of their top striker, Leonardo Castro, is haunting the club and also ruining the rhythm of the CDB combination.
Furthermore, the likes of Dolly and Billiat are used to Castro's style of play, which makes it difficult for other players to try and fill the void, despite having highly qualified players in their camp.
When looking at the fact that they have the likes of 'Villa', one can say Castro’s absence shouldn't be felt as much, knowing that Villa is also one of the best finishers in the country. However, for him to do well at Downs, he will need to gel with Dolly and Khama first. Hence, Downs have found it difficult to grind out results in their previous three games.
Having said that, do you think Castro's absence is haunting Downs?
