Chiefs Legend Analyses Starting XI
Kaizer Chiefs Legend Fabian McCarthy Analyses Steve Komphela's Starting XI vs AmaZulu
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Fabian McCarthy analyses the starting XI to battle AmaZulu in the Absa Premiership today.
The ex-Bafana Bafana international wore the famous gold and black strip in Soweto for five seasons, helping lead the Glamour Boys to two league titles, as well as the MTN8, Telkom Knockout and Nedbank Cup crowns.
As he prepares to watch on from the stands with the rest of the fans when Chiefs face Usuthu at the FNB Stadium, McCarthy gives his thought's on head coach Steve Komphela's selections.
"I think that it's a 4-4-2, the coach obviously wants to put the pressure on and get maybe one or two early goals," McCarthy tells the Siya crew.
"(But) I'm surprised he didn't start with (Ryan) Moon. What's the reason being? How do you justify that? Because he got the call-up (to Bafana), maybe he wanted to start the game and do better, and score one or two goals, but he'll come on in the second-half.
"Basically, for me, it looks like a simple 4-4-2, obviously their strong side is more on the right-hand side where Molangoane and Rama are always attacking.
"But I still think there, in the middle of the park, they need someone like (George) Maluleka."
On Amakhosi's attacking intern, McCarthy adds: "It's good to see (Bernard) Parker starting, obviously he won't play as the top man, he will just play in between Castro and Meyiwa or Shabba."
