Following his side’s 0-0 draw in an Absa Premiership match against Orlando Pirate son Tuesday night, Polokwane City coach Kosta Papic has pleaded with his team to maintain their tactical discipline.
Papic believes that if his team continues to show the tactical discipline they did against the Buccaneers, which saw them earn their first clean sheet of the season, he believes they can achieve great things this season.
“It was a very tactical match,” said Papic after the Pirates match.
“Pirates put us under pressure in the second half more than we expected.
“Still, we tried to push forward and we had a last chance to score at the end, and that three points would have meant so much for us, but at least we got the draw.
“Two giants (referring to their draw against Kaizer Chiefs earlier in the season as well), two draws, and if I am being honest it is a good result.
“Still, my team always wants to win the match and is always fighting for the three points and we are going to continue doing that, it doesn’t matter if we play away or at home.
“Football is about tactical discipline.
“If we have a mistake like we did against Ajax (lost 2-1 after conceding two early goals), that is not going to lead us anywhere.
“If we play with discipline like we did against Pirates then it is possible for us to achieve something more than people expect of us.
“If we continue to play with this tactical discipline then we will be ok.”
