Madibaz Humble Kovsies In Bloem

The NMMU Madibaz claimed a convincing 4-0 away win against Kovsies in their Varsity Football clash in Bloemfontein.
It was Kovsies' first defeat at home this season, and the win saw last year's runners-up NMMU move past them on goal difference.
The Madibaz made all the early running and had the Kovsies defence under pressure as they pushed forward with intent.
The home side nearly opened the scoring when a long ball caught NMMU goalkeeper Lyndsay Jennings off his line, but Mongezi Mologovane's lob was too high.
The visitors would be rewarded for their early endeavour when a floated diagonal ball found Simamkele Thobi who buried the header to give them a 1-0 lead on the road.
Kovsies needed a response and surged into NMMU's half in search of an equaliser, but the Eastern Cape outfit were showing plenty of physicality on defence and managed to shut them down regularly.
As a result the Madibaz took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break, which was just reward for a determined opening 45 minutes.
The visitors doubled their advantage early in the second half as a cool first-time finish from Lukhanyo Rasmeni put them 2-0 up.
Kovsies almost opened their account from a counter attack, but striker Jay Jay Groenewald put his effort wide as the frustration continued for the home side.
The third goal came from substitute striker Kieran Koert who burst through on a long ball and smashed home a stunning volley to leave the home fans stunned.
Madibaz captain Kurt Duff landed the finishing blow with a powerful header from a corner that put the seal on a polished performance from his side.
