Top Of The Table Clash

Date: Monday, August 18

Venue: Tuks Stadium

Time: 18:00

Defending champions UP-Tuks are currently in second position and will be hosting current leaders NWU-Mafikeng in Pretoria with the hope of emulating last year's performances and results.

UP-Tuks had the better of their opponents twice last year when they narrowly beat the Mafikeng students in the round-robin phase as well as in the semi-final of the competition on their way to claiming the inaugural title.

However, the visitors will be going all out to putting those results behind them and make it a case of third time lucky.

"We have a different team this year and it will be a different ball game. It's all about revenge for us this year. We are unbeaten so far and they won’t be allowed to stand on our way," said NWU coach Amos Xabanisa.

Tuks coach Evangelos Vellios has been watching his opponents closely and believes they have the upper hand and will claim maximum points to regain their place at the top of the standings.

"We know what to expect from them. We want nothing less than maximum points so that we can regain our place at the top of the log,” Vellios said.

With 11 goals between the sides in Round Four (Tuks put five past Limpopo while NWU got six of their own) we are assured of an entertaining game of football as both sides would want to finish the match sitting pretty at the top of the table.

UP-Tuks Squad: 1 Nicholas Stothard, 13 Lindsay Stowman, 8 Nicholas Killas, 2 Botshelo Mfulwane, 4 Lawrence Ntswane, 10 Jeremiah Nkwana, 22 Dean Wilkinson, 3 Robin Swartz, 15 Jarryd Van Den Berg, 5 Simbongile Njokwe, 11 Richard Moremi, 32 Lebo Ngubeni, 17 Irvin Tshabalala, 9 Mbongeni Masilela, 20 Thabo Ndlovu, 14 Tebogo Galane, 11 Richard Moremi.

NWU-Mafikeng Squad: 1 Amogelang Maduo, 7 Sipho Mateis, 2 Lebogang Phetlhu, 3 Sifiso Ngwenya, 20 Tseko Weevirs, 12 Mogomotsi Molefe, 6 Sandile Mbatha, 13 Thatohatsi Santos, 10 Orebotse Mongae, 9 Tshenolo Machwisa, 11 Lindani Dudula, 24 Aobakwe Mopelwa, 25 Goitseone Naane, 21 Lebogang Motshegare, 22 Madie Makwela, 18 Thapelo Tlabakwe, 8 Kagiso Modimoeng.
