The Siya crew have been informed that Kaizer Chiefs have beaten Mamelodi Sundowns to the signature of the late Emmanuel Scara Ngobese’s son, Lwandle.
The 14-year-old has quietly been honing his trade out in Katlehong under the guidance of coach Sibonelo Sithelo at local side, Bafana United Soccer Academy out in the East Rand.
Thankfully for ‘Scara Jr’ he escaped the pressure of carrying his late father’s name, as he used his mother’s surname, Yende, which allowed him to develop without any unnecessary pressure.

Word quickly got out about Lwandle’s prodigious talent, which was reminiscent of his late father, who was a fan favourite for Amakhosi with his wizardry and impeccable passing, so much so that Chiefs invited him over for a trial.
“Chiefs found out about Lwandle, after I spoke to some media people, Sundowns were also informed about the boy and saw videos of him,” Sithole informed the Siya crew.
“When he first joined us, I did not even know that it was Scara’s son, it was only when I heard people calling him Scara that I enquired, only to find out that he was indeed Ngobese’s son, using his mother’s surname,” he said.
The teenager managed to impress the Chiefs youth coaches, who wasted no time in signing him for their under-17 team, although Sithole says its only a matter of time before he makes the step up to the club's DStv Diski Challenge team.
“He is a beast that boy and is even more skilful than his father. He is only 14 but he was playing with the under 17s and 19s in my team. I told the coaches at Chiefs to just give him game-time and they will see. I don’t think it will be long before we see him in the DDC,” Sithole added.
