Pitso's Warning To Kapinga

The announcement that the 25-year-old joining Downs was made on Thursday, the club confirming a five year contract that was agreed on earlier this year when it became clear that Kapinga would not be staying at Black Leopards.

His move has brought about questions of whether he has what it takes to break into Mosimane’s line-up at the club, like it is usually the case with any new arrival, especially at Sundowns, where there are so many good players.

“I wish Lesedi all the best and I hope he makes it,” Mosimane said in an interview on the club’s official channels.

“I know the yellow jersey can be heavy for many players we sign, and then it becomes like a waste – like we are signing them and we don’t know what to do. But that is football and these things do happen in football. You never have guarantees that the player you are signing will work out. But he is a good player, a young player and we have also checked his social life. He ticks the box, he is a very good boy.”

Kapinga became the second player to be confirmed by the club ahead of next season after George Maluleka, with the Bidvest Wits trio of Ricardo Goss, Haashim Domingo and Gift Motupa yet to be officially unveiled.
