The Siya crew has been informed that Maritzburg United defender Lungelo Bhengu is a man in demand with a number of PSL teams believed to be interested in his services.
Bhengu has been with the Team of Choice from 2020 after parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs, where he came through the club’s development structures.
It didn’t take long for the 23-year-old to establish himself in Pietermaritzburg and so far this season, he has managed 10 appearances for coach Ernst Middendorp’s team.
The latest news reaching the Siya crew regarding Bhengu, is that his performances have attracted the interest of no less than three teams in the DStv Premiership.
Golden Arrows, TS Galaxy and SuperSport United are all believed to be tracking the player with a view of adding him to their respective squads next season.
Reports in local media have linked the youngster with a move to German side SPVGG Untehaching, upon joining Maritzburg, although nothing materialized from the talk at the time.
Information made available to the Siya crew is that Bhengu has one year remaining on his contract with the KZN club and could be on the move at the end of the 2021/22 season.
