Mamelodi Sundowns go to the top of the Absa Premiership table with a game in hand on Sunday, should they secure all three points against Kaizer Chiefs.
While many could call it a revenge encounter after receiving a 4-2 drubbing from Chiefs, Sundowns will have an entirely different approach to the game compared to a friendly match.

Sundowns currently have up to seven players on their injury list and while Jose Ali Meza could still be a doubt for the Brazilians as he is nursing an ankle injury, it remains to be seen whether Mauricio Affonso could possibly be introduced in to the starting line-up after scoring the winning goal against Highlands Park midweek, when he came on as a substitute for Lebohang Maboe.
On the other hand, with Denis Onyango expected to miss this clash after being released from club duty, while Kennedy Mweene will be raring to go.
Siya sources have indicated that Reyaad Pieterse could be a doubt for the matchday squad as he is nursing an injury, although the Brazilians are yet to confirm the reason for his absence.
The two sides’ Absa Premiership record against each other in the last five seasons are currently equal, having each lost three, won three and drawn four in their past 10 meetings in the league.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Sundowns will continue on their unbeaten and winning run and move to the top of the table this weekend.
