Kaizer Chiefs development graduate Sabelo Radebe has revealed the player he thinks will follow in his footsteps in making the step up to the first team.
Radebe, who captained the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side last season was the only Chiefs player to be promoted to the club's first team this campaign.
Under now departed coach Stuart Baxter, ‘Bibo’ played a bit-part role for Chiefs as he acclimatizes to life in the topflight.
Now, the 21-year-old has touted striker Mduduzi Shabalala, who is currently undergoing assessment in Belgium with KVC Westerlo, to make an impact with the Chiefs first team – if he does return to South Africa.
“I think from the MDC, the player that has shown he deserves to be playing in the first team is Shabalala. We might be rushing him, but I think he has the potential, ” he told Vodacom’s Ringa Nathi.
“You could see in the [DStv] Compact Cup, playing with players that play in the PSL, he still gave us something, so I think he is the next one,” he added.
Bibo, who has made just six appearances for the club this season will be hoping to feature more prominently in the final seven games of the 2021/22 season under his former coach Arthur Zwane, who alongside Dillon Shepard, have been tasked with seeing out the rest of the campaign.
