While speculation was rife that Doctor Khumalo was expected to make a sensational return to Naturena, indications are that it’s another Amakhosi icon that’s become the front runner for the assistant coach role – Arthur Zwane.
The former winger is currently working within the club’s youth structures, specifically as the Multichoice Diski Challenge head coach, where he has done well and been driving the vision when it comes to players who are ready to graduate to the first team.
Zwane had also been roped in by Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki as an assistant coach in the national team’s recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Chiefs appointed Hunt on a three-year deal on Thursday and Siya sources have suggested Zwane, who spent a decade as a player for Amakhosi before retiring, is in talks with the club to be elevated to the assistant coach role.
