AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has opened up on the reports surrounding the future of Kaizer Chiefs target, Siyethemba Sithebe.
According to sources, the attacker is no longer part of club's plans, with indications that a deal with Kaizer Chiefs is close to being concluded, as previously reported by the Siya crew.
"Sithebe won't be playing for the club anymore. He is no longer part (of the team) and it is nothing personal, but business," Zungu told the media on Thursday.
McCarthy insists that as a coach, he focuses on what happens on the pitch.
"For me as a coach, I try not to involve myself in that. Emotionally, I'm already involved in players when they come to training. That's all I can control," McCarthy told the media.
"I can't talk about the deal because I don't think it is fair for me to find out what is happening with players and their earnings, because coaches are sometimes evil. You know how much a player earns and one bad game, then you hold it against him."
The former Bafana Bafana striker insists that no player will get special treatment.
"I rather not get involved in that, the club deals with that. When it comes to training and on the pitch, that's where I get in. If the player gives me 100%, I have to play him. As far as I know he still part of the team, until he is no longer our player and we will then end our relationship with him. For now, he is my player, an AmaZulu player and is expected to be trained.
"No one is bigger than the team and there's no special treatment here. If he gives me any problems, then he will have to deal with me and I will bow down when one achieves better than me. That goes for all the players."
