Former Polokwane City midfielder Tshepo ‘Jomo’ Matsemela had tongues wagging at the recent Soweto Spectacular when he produced some scintillating skill on the ball.
It is topic that has caused widespread division in the country over recent months, with fans undecided whether skills performed on the ball is a form of showboating, or an expression of skill.
It was brought into the spotlight when Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane lambasted Orlando Pirates’ Fortune Makaringe for his exploits on the ball during a recent match between the two sides.
Stars of Africa development product Matsemela, who is currently on the books of GladAfrica side JDR Stars had fans on their feet in the semi-final of the Soweto Spectacular hosted at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto Campus.
The 24-year-old who is known for his eccentric style of play was up to his usual tricks when he represented Aston Villa as they took on Khenza FC.
In the video ‘Jomo’ can be seen whipping out his bag of tricks, much to the delight of the supporters and the despair of opposition defenders.
