Khune Must Fight For His Spot
Kaizer Chiefs have welcomed back their want away goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and coach Steve Komphela says that despite Khune being a top class goalkeeper he has to fight for his place.
The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper has reached an agreement with Chiefs for a return to the club, after he was released at the end of the 2014/2015 season.
Komphela said that Reyaad Pietersen and Brilliant Khuzwayo are both good goalkeepers, who will give Khune a run for his money.
"Nobody has God given rights to walk straight. He is a good keeper but he need to win his strips again," Komphela said.
"Reyaad had a blinder today and we can't just let Khune walk back into the team without digging for his place. It's good he is back and we welcome him but he has to fight for his place."
Khune was in attendance at the FNB stadium, as the AmaKhosi lost to Soweto rivals, Orlando Pirates, in the Carling Black Label Cup.
