With their pre-season in full swing, Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that their first major friendly against Orlando Pirates is now officially sold out.
The Glamour Boys will take on their biggest rivals at the end of this month on July 27, the week before the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season gets underway, with both sets of fans hoping to see their side take early bragging rights.
Having taken a break last year because of the World Cup in Russia, the Carling Black Label Cup is back in full swing as supporters get to pick their Soweto Derby starting line-ups for the occasion at FNB Stadium.
Currently, the amount of votes are split 55%/45% in favour of Chiefs as their fans look to make their voices heard – and they’ve moved to sell out the stadium.
Chiefs confirmed the news on their official website, saying, “Tickets for the much anticipated Carling Black Label Cup are sold out… The pre-season friendly and showpiece featuring arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will take place on Saturday, 27 July.
“The stage is set at the Calabash, FNB Stadium for another mouth-watering traditional rivalry. Kick-off for this Soweto Derby is at 15:00. The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport and SABC TV.”
