Recent player movements at Orlando Pirates have thrown a selection poser for fans who’ve been given the power to select the starting line-ups.
With Thabo Qalinge and Thabo Matlaba officially leaving the Buccaneers as confirmed by the club this week, a curve ball has been thrown with regards to how the team is shaping up ahead of the Carling Black Label Cup against Kaizer Chiefs next month.
The two Soweto giants meet on June 27 at FNB Stadium and both Qalinge and Matlaba had been selected by fans who purchased a selected Carling Black Label beer and voted by dialling *120* 660* and a unique code followed by # – but there are options nonetheless.
Pirates still have Alfred Ndengane, Asavela Mbekile, Ntsikelelo Nyauza, and Paseka Mako to pick from, just to name a few, before voting closes.
Don’t be surprised if there are more changes to the line-up given that the transfer window officially opens on July 1, and the Buccaneers are expected to announce a few new arrivals. Among them will be the Maritzburg United duo of Siphesihle Ndlovu and Fortune Makaringe, who will undoubtedly attract a couple of votes.
