Following the introduction of the Game Changers in the Carling Black Label Cup, supporters from both the Soweto clubs shared with Soccer Laduma how valued they feel to play an even bigger role in the fixture.
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will lock horns at the FNB Stadium on July 27, in the return of the CBL Cup.
CBL recently confirmed the three Game Changers for the encounter which allows the supporters to choose the team captain, choose the Man of the Match and make substitutions through Twitter.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, here is what a Chiefs supporter had to say:
“The Carling Black Label Cup has really done so much for us as supporters and that is why it doesn’t really feel like a pre-season game for us. We are thrilled with all the activities that will take place in this years’ edition of the Carling Black Label Cup. The Game Changers that they have introduced, where supporters will vote for the captain of their choice, make substitutions through Twitter and select the Man of the Match, are just unbelievable.
“That is why this cup will always be played in front of a full house because, as supporters, for once we really feel valued. This is more than just a game of football for us and we are indeed thrilled that Carling Black Label has decided to introduce the Game Changers for this year’s edition. We hope that even other sponsors can learn a thing or two from them. It is really nice to be given the power to be in control,” Sivuyile Kupelo said.
