The German coach was not there for the launch of the Carling Black Label Cup this afternoon as the game between the Amakhosi and Orlando Pirates was launched for 2019, with Shaun Bartlett taking responsibility alongside Willard Katsande in his absence.
With the club only set to return for pre-season on June 26, there is still around a month before Middendorp has to resume his job officially, however indications are that - at this point in time - he will be in charge when the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season gets underway later in the year.
