Capitec together with Soccer Laduma found a way to reward and celebrate everyday South Africans, no matter what bank they do their banking with. Every month a winning letter gets published in an edition of Soccer Laduma, however, we have decided to also share the stories of others who have sent in their inspiring letters.
Zanele Shabalala changed to Capitec as she needed a bank with low charges for the low income that she was receiving so that she could apply for a loan to help her mother build a four bedroom home.
“My name is Zanele Shabalala and I have been with Capitec for some years now, but before I was with Nedbank and was very unhappy with their service. I asked for a loan twice and was rejected because of (my) low income, but did not want to change banks because of the hassle. But, that changed when a Capitec salesperson came to my workplace and showed me how easy it was with them to change and (from) then I never looked back.
“The Capitec charges are extremely low (as) compared to what I was paying with my other bank and for the first time I had an option to have a second or third account where I could save money in and access anytime plus their app is so user friendly transferring between the accounts was easy and it helped me understand the banking system better.
“Capitec did not only make me knowledgeable but also gave me a loan to assist my mom who was building at the time. I was able to secure a loan to put tiles and plaster and paint a four bedroom house with the same low income I was getting but was rejected by the other bank.
“Which is why I say (that) Capitec is truly for the people. They always consider people first no matter how much you earn. To them you (are) more than just a number and they really make your money go a long way. So, thank you Capitec.”
