Chevrolet UTE Force Driving Football Dreams

Chevrolet UTE Force, One World Futbol and Dreamfields Project recently treated soccer teams from six schools in Mabopane, Tshwane, to a full day’s worth of soccer at the Sun Valley Primary School.

Chevrolet UTE Force delivered soccer kits to six disadvantaged schools in the Northern part of Tshwane. The Department of Basic Education has been a large part of soccer development over the last three years and has been actively involved with the Chevrolet sponsored soccer leagues across all nine provinces. Tim Hendon, Chevrolet Brand Manager, said of the relationship, “It’s only with the participation of local government bodies that we can hope to achieve integration throughout all the provinces.”

Each school in attendance not only received a full soccer kit but also One World Futbol’s nearly indestructible and ultra-durable soccer balls in their training pack.

John Perlman, CEO and founder of Dreamfields, said, “You can only bring your dreams closer if you work at it each and every day. And you can only grow football dreams if you play all the time. That is why the One World Futbol truly is a miracle ball. The children we work with at Dreamfields simply don’t want to stop playing, and thanks to Chevrolet they now have a football that is as strong and durable as their dreams will need to be.”

Hendon added that the One World Futbol hand-over was part of a two million-ball sponsorship made by global Chevrolet to disadvantaged communities across the world.

Each team wore their new kit in the Dream League games that were played throughout the afternoon. Included in the kit the participating schools received were socks, shoes, shorts and shirts.

To date the Chevrolet Ute Force project has impacted more than 130 schools since 2013. In addition Chevrolet South Africa has distributed more than 60 000 One World Futbol balls to needy communities across South Africa as part of the global Chevrolet One World Play Project.

The UTE Force is a team committed to helping people around the country by completing extraordinary missions for in disadvantaged communities. The Ute Force team use their partners in practically all areas of industry and sport to increase their impact within the project areas.

The One World Futbol Project was founded in the USA with the help of founding sponsor Chevrolet. An ultra-durable ball was created to bring the transformative power of play to the hundreds of millions of youth worldwide who don’t even have something as simple as a ball with which to play.

The Dreamfields Project makes use of all of the excitement surrounding South African soccer to leverage significant investments for soccer facilities and equipment to be used in township and rural schools.
