Building The Future Through The Power Of Play
SA has many communities desperately requiring upliftment. With the power of Chevrolet Utility bakkies, and through strategic investment and the power of play, Chevrolet UTE Force is helping to raise the standard of living, educate and nurture valuable life-skills in these areas.
To date, the Chevrolet UTE Force has had a positive impact on the lives of many ordinary South Africans across the country. By investing in excess of R9 million in over 240 projects, both large and small, the Chevrolet UTE Force has touched the lives of citizens across this country. From installing food gardens and teaching children the value of fresh produce, to painting classrooms, creating energy efficient systems by replacing old light-bulbs and fixing leaking taps, to starting soccer leagues in cities, towns and remote areas forgotten by most.
With a view to sustainability and a focus on everyday heroes, local communities are also getting involved in making a lasting difference, which is exactly what Chevrolet Utility bakkies are designed for. The safe, strong and fuel economical Chevrolet Utility bakkies are the workhorses used to carry out these bold projects.
Chevrolet UTE Force is also using sport to inspire children and teach valuable life skills. Their goal is to have a positive impact on the lives of children through soccer and play, demonstrating that through play all things are possible. The importance of play is undeniable, as children who play find their worlds more exciting, invigorating and can see life’s beautiful possibilities. Tim Hendon, Chevrolet’s brand manager, said that Chevrolet is part of a two million ball sponsorship in partnership with One World Play Project. Taking this One World Futbol into disadvantaged communities means that learners can play continuous football, as this is an ultra-durable ball designed to withstand the rigors of both rural fields and city streets.
Chevrolet Ute Force
The UTE Force is a team committed to helping people around the country. At their disposal is a fleet of Chevrolet utility bakkies that are light on fuel, safe and can carry up to 3/4 tons to complete extraordinary missions in disadvantaged communities. The Ute Force team use their partners in practically all areas of industry and sport to increase their impact within the project areas
One World Play Project
In 2010, the One World Futbol Project was founded in the USA with the help of founding sponsor Chevrolet. An ultra-durable ball was created to bring the transformative power of play to the hundreds of millions of youth worldwide who don’t even have something as simple as a ball with which to play. Over time they discovered the power of football and the positive effect it has had on the lives of people across the globe.
Dreamfields Project
The Dreamfields Project makes use of all of the excitement surrounding South African soccer to leverage significant investments for soccer facilities and equipment to be used in township and rural schools. Dreamfields operates in partnership with the Department of Education, who sit on the board, and together the partnership has staged a number of tournaments, coined DreamEvents. These have been used to launch school–based leagues in different communities. Most of the investment has been outside of metropolitan areas in smaller provincial towns and in certain villages in the most remote rural areas of South Africa.
