SuperSport Blow As Star Suspended For CAF Clash
Thuso Phala Is Suspended For SuperSport United Tonight
SuperSport United’s Kaitano Tembo will have to do without one of his key players tonight as Matsatsantsa look to progress in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Pretoria-based outfit went all the way to the CCC final last year as they fell at the final hurdle to Congolese giants, TP Mazembe, and they will have their sights set on going one better in the 2018 edition of the competition.
Tembo, who took over as interim after Eric Tinkler resigned, will have to make a plan to replace Thuso Phala though, with the attacker facing the second game of his two-match ban following his sending off in the final last year.
Phala played a huge role for SuperSport last season on their way to the final, and his absence will no doubt be a blow for Tembo, however, he and his side will be confident of using home advantage to make sure that they reach the play-off round of the tournament.
SuperSport haven’t won any of their last six matches in all competitions – their last victory was last month – and they will be eager to return to winning ways tonight.
The game will be televised on SuperSport 9 at 19h00 this evening and will take place at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
