Matsatsantsa came so close to lifting the CCC trophy this year as they fell at the final hurdle against TP Mazembe, however, their efforts mean that they won't have to face two teams in order to try and reach the group stages next year.

Eric Tinkler's side will face either Angola’s Petro Atlético de Luanda or Master Security Services of Malawi in the first round of the tournament as they look to book themselves a group stage spot for the second consecutive year.

SuperSport will be away for the first leg of their tie that is scheduled for the weekend of March 9th, with the second leg at home set to take place one week later.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has hinted at a clear-out in the upcoming January transfer window as he plans to reinforce his side for the 2018 Caf Champions League. Players like Thela Ngobeni, Siyanda Zwane, Cuthbert Malajila, Thabo Nthethe and Kennedy Mweene are said to be on their way out of Sundowns. Mosimane could not say which players he will be releasing except to confirm that he will be making changes to his squad. “We kept some players last time because we did not want to lose Champions League- registered players. But now we need to shed what we don’t need and get players for the Champions League because we can only register players in January,” said Mosimane.
