Matsatsantsa are priming themselves for a historic game in the Democratic Republic of Congo this weekend when they play in the first leg of their first ever continental cup final, visiting Lubumbashi for the second time this year.
As well as the DRC, and their home games in South Africa, SuperSport have played in Madagascar, Sudan, Liberia, Gabon, Guinea, Zambia and Tunisia en route to reaching the final two, with Stuart Baxter, Kaitano Tembo and, currently, Eric Tinkler all playing their role as head coach along the way.
Jeremy Brockie, with 10 goals, is not only the top scorer for the club, but also in the tournament itself, and he will win the Golden Boot as long as long as Mazembe’s Ben Malango (currently on six) doesn’t go on a scoring spree.
Matsatsantsa jet out to Lubumbashi tomorrow morning before taking a couple of days to acclimatise ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game at Stade TP Mazembe.
