Following their hard-fought win against Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup in May, National First Division side TS Galaxy is gearing up for participation in the CAF Confederation Cup, which is scheduled to get underway this weekend.
Galaxy's cup triumph qualified the club for the Confederation Cup for the first time ever in their history, while Chiefs will miss out on the continental competition this season, after taking part during last season's edition.
The Mpumalanga-based outfit will host St. Louis of Seychelles at the Mbombela Stadium for the first leg of their preliminary round matches of this season's Confederation Cup on August 11.
Meanwhile, TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has confirmed on his official Twitter account that the opponents have already landed in Mzansi for Mzansi’s club’s historic match.
“St. Louis of Seychelles has just landed for the historical CAF match on Sunday - TS Galaxy FC is the first ever NFD Club to represent SA in a CAF competition as Champions of SA’s FA Cup i.e. The Nedbank Cup! Red Army you ready?” tweeted Sukazi.
TS Galaxy will be joined by Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits from Mzansi in competing on the continental stage this season.
