Orlando Pirates coach, Eric Tinkler, indicated that there is no time for his side to dwell on their recent games which have yielded disappointing results.
The Buccaneers welcome Egyptian giants Al Ahly to the Orlando Stadium on Saturday for the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final clash.
Tinkler’s charges go in to that game coming off a 0-0 draw against Polokwane City in the league and a 4-1 humbling at the hands of Zamalek in their last CAF Group B encounter.
The defeat to Zamalek means that Bucs finished second in the group and will now have to face Al Ahly who finished top of their group. Tinkler has indicated that he is not dwelling on past results and is looking forward to the semi-final clash.
“We don’t have time to sit and sulk about that result or not finishing on top of the group. We have another important game next. We have to move on,” Tinkler told Soccer Laduma.
Tinkler will be without his captain, Oupa Manyisa, who has been ruled out of the clash with an ankle injury sustained in last night’s game against City.
Do you think that Tinkler’s charges will be able to overcome the Egyptian giants even without their talismanic midfielder? What would be a good result for Pirates to take into the second leg of the semi-final?
