Orlando Pirates head coach, Eric Tinkler, has indicated that he joined the Buccaneers with the aim of helping them win trophies.
Tinkler’s charges ran out 1-0 winners over Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the first-leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final on Saturday.
The Buccaneers will now have to travel to Egypt for the second-leg of their tie, knowing that a win or a draw will send them through to the final of the continental competition.
“I came here to Orlando Pirates to win trophies. This is the first one we stand a good chance of achieving now,” Tinkler told Soccer Laduma.
“We are one step away from reaching the final so we are going to give it our best shot. I know I will always give it my best shot.
“It would be fantastic to win because it is a trophy the club has never won. We would like to put it in the trophy cabinet, but it will not be easy,” he added.
Do you think Pirates will be able to get a result when they travel to Egypt on the weekend and advance to the final?
