Tinkler: Do I Feel Confident? Hell Yes!

Eric Tinkler says that he’s confident of finishing the job at home in the CAF Confederation Cup final after a 2-1 defeat in Lubumbashi to TP Mazembe.
The young midfielder, Sipho Mbule, scored a cracker to equalise for Matsatsantsa after they fell behind early in the first half to an Adama Traore goal, however they didn’t manage to hold on to get a draw as Daniel Adjei beat Ronwen Williams to grab the winner.
Tinkler, however, was not disheartened, and he believes that – with the return of some players, his side are more than capable of picking up the result that they need in Tshwane.
Speaking after the game he said, “I’d rather leave with a 2-1 loss than a 0-0 draw because it was very important for us to get an away goal, especially against a team like TP Mazembe. They’re an experienced team, and if you don’t score here then it becomes very difficult at home. Now I think it has opened up the game a bit more…
“Due to injuries and suspensions you saw quite a lot of younger players, like Sipho Mbule, who haven’t had regular game-time, but they featured and they did it against TP Mazembe. I thought they did well, exceptionally well. So do I feel confident? Hell yes! I feel very confident because I know that next week we’ll be getting certain players back.”
SuperSport face Mazembe in the second leg on Saturday at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
