Mamelodi Sundowns booked their spot in the CAF Champions League groups with a narrow win over KCCA of Uganda last month, with the reigning champions keeping alive their hopes of defending the title that they won last year.
Pitso Mosimane’s men will go into the draw in Pot 1 as they avoid the likes of Al-Ahly, Zamalek and Etoile du Sahel, and the Masandawana head coach will be eagerly awaiting the draw as he continues to battle for the Absa Premiership title.
Meanwhile, SuperSport United and Platinum Stars now await the CAF Confederation Cup draw later this month following their impressive victories over Barrack Young Controllers and AS Tanda.
Dikwena overturned a 2-0 deficit from the first leg to beat the Ivorians in a penalty shootout, while Matsatsantsa turned on the style with a 5-0 drubbing of BYC thanks to a Jeremy Brockie hattrick.
Bidvest Wits lost out in Egypt as they were knocked out of the CCC by Smouha after a penalty gave the Egyptians a narrow 1-0 aggregate victory over the South African title chasers.
The draw for the group stages of both competitions will take place on March 26th in Cairo, with 16 teams in each competition being drawn into four different groups.
All three clubs will now have group games to play in May as the league season comes to an end.
