SuperSport United were held to a 0-0 draw by Zesco United in the CAF Confederations Cup quarter-final first leg on Friday evening.
Bradley Grobler could have opened the scoring in the sixth minute after being picked out by Grant Kekana unmarked inside the box but he fluffed his chance.
Grobler thought he had opened the scoring in the 14th minute finding the back of the net but the goal was ruled out for handball.
Eric Tinkler's charges were dominating play after half-an-hour, threatening especially on set-pieces with Thabo Mnyamane coming close on a couple of occasions.
Zlatko Krmpotic's charges started to get into the game after the 37th minute, having absorbed the pressure up to this point.
Matsatsantsa retreated into their own half as the visitors put them under pressure up to the final whistle of the first-half.
Zesco continued to pressurise Matsatsantsa in the beginning of the second-half, coming close to opening the scoring in the 55th minute.
Reneilwe Letsholonyane got Eric Tinkler's charges back into the game after the hour-mark, dictating play from the middle of the park.
In the 77th minute Dove Wome was thrown into the game replacing Thabo Mnyamane.
Krmpotic's charges were playing on the counter-attacks after the 85th minute, cautious not to commit men forward.
The two teams settled for the share of spoils in the end.
