Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Tiyani Mabunda, has spoken ahead of his side’s crucial CAF Champions League encounter.
The Brazilians are currently in Morocco, where they are set to lock horns with Wydad Casablanca in a crucial CAF Champions League Group C encounter.
“As Mamelodi Sundowns, we understand the level of importance of today’s game, we know that it is not going to be easy, Wydad have been a very good side throughout the competition, they are currently at the top and we know their way of thinking especially when they play home, we have played with them before last season when they knocked us out and we have understood that it is not the same game that we may have played at home,” Mabuna told the media ahead of the game.
“So it is very important that each and every person that is entrusted with the responsibility to represent Mamelodi Sundowns as well as south Africa in the field of play today, that each and every single person should give 100% and ensure that we get the result.”
The Brazilians will need no less than a draw from this evening’s clash against Wydad, in order to ensure that they are on track to progress to the next round.
Mabunda admits that the group is tight, with any of the teams able to progress.
“It is very tight, any body can still make it through to the next round because if you look at the leader, which is Wydad, they have eight and we are playing against them with 5, the moment we win we will be joined with them. It won’t be easy for (any) team, each team still has a chance,” he added.
