The Brazilians cruised to the first round of Africa's premier club competition after thumping Leones Vegetarianos 5-1 in the second leg on Wednesday evening.
Sundowns will now face Egyptian outfit Al Ahly Benghazi in the next round for a spot in the group stages.
“In terms of qualifying we are happy to go through. We could have scored more but you also need to appreciate and be grateful sometimes. What I like is that they tried to play and go forward. They were dominant on the ball. They were getting their passing lines [right] like against SuperSport United," Mosimane told SuperSport after the game.
“It’s good we bring on other players and it remains the same. It means there is proper continuation in the team.
“It’s not going to be easy [in the next round] because Ahli Benghazi won we’ll have to go to Cairo now that’s a big one. We have team, if we play like this, create chances like this we should be able to win. We should just try and score away."
