Orlando Pirates have confirmed that they will be without one of the club’s stars and a regular for coach Milutin Sredojevic’s team in their CAF Champions League match tomorrow.
The Buccaneers will host Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum in their penultimate Group B Champions League match at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg from 21h00 this Friday.
The Soweto giants have confirmed that Vincent Pule, who has been a regular in Sredojevic’s line-ups in all competitions this season, is suspended for the Platinum match.
For the visitors, Lawrence Mhlanga is the player to miss the match, due to suspension.
While for the visitors the match will be a formality, as they are at the bottom of Group B log with no chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals, it is crucial for Pirates for their quest to reach the next stage of the competition.
Bucs are third on the standings with five points from four matches, with Horoya AC and Esperance de Tunis with seven and eight points respectively above them.
A win against Platinum and another in their final match of the group stages against Horoya could help Bucs qualify for the next round, depending on the results from the other teams’ matches.
