Orlando Pirates are switching their focus to the CAF Champions League after they beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout on the weekend.
The Buccaneers defeated Amakhosi 2-1 in their TKO semi-final match played on Saturday, and will meet Baroka FC in the final, after the Limpopo outfit defeated Bidvest Wits in their semi-final.
Bucs will welcome Light Stars FC from Seychelles in the preliminary stage of the Champions League to mark their return to the competition after a three-year absence.
Bucs head coach Milutin Sredojevic has said that the team from Seychelles won’t be taken lightly by his side that has been on impressive form this season.
“We want to take it one step at a time. We don’t want to think ahead. In football, we have seen what it means to disrespect an opponent and not succeed in winning,” the coach told the media in part.
The game against Light Stars will be played at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday and the return leg in Seychelles has been scheduled for the week of 4-5 December.
