CAF Champions League

Busy Schedule Ahead As Bucs Aim To Maintain Unbeaten Record

The Orlando Pirates technical team could look to continue with squad rotation for upcoming matches as the club is faced with a busy schedule before the end of the year.

With the Buccaneers set to get their CAF Champions League underway this week with a match against Light Stars FC from Seychelles on Wednesday, the Soweto giants will hardly get enough time to rest, as matches will be coming thick and fast for in the domestic league and on the continent.

In recent matches, Milutin Sredojevic and Rulani Mokwena have rotated players for the various matches, where the likes of Asavela Mbekile, Thabiso Kutumela and Marshall Munetsi have returned to Bucs’ starting line-ups after missing out earlier in the season.

After their upcoming match in the Champions League, Bucs are set to play five other matches before the festive break as they aim to do well in all the three competitions.

The next Absa Premiership match for the side will be against Maritzburg United on December 01. After the Maritzburg match, Bucs will travel to Seychelles for the return leg of their Champions League match with Light Stars on December 05.

A trip to Port Elizabeth will then follow for the Soweto giants for their Telkom Knockout final against Baroka FC on December 08.

A trip to the Free State’s Goble Park Stadium will then follow for Bucs when they face Free State Stars in a league match on December 11.

The last two fixtures on Bucs’ schedule for the year have been planned against the winner between Volcan de Moroni (Comoros) or African Stars (Namibia) at home in the first leg of the Champions League on December 15, and away in the second leg on December 22.

Bucs, who are on an impressive 12-match unbeaten streak, will look to continue their run in the different competitions despite a jam-packed schedule, in their quest to finish the year on a high.

Bucs form: W-W-D-W-D-D-W(TKO)-W-W(TKO)-W-D-W(TKO)
