Mamelodi Sundowns are set to arrive in Nigeria today to begin their CAF Champions League preparations.
The Brazilians will take on Lobi Stars of Nigeria in their first group A encounter of the CAF Champions League on Friday, with Sundowns recently confirming that their midweek Absa Premiership clash against Polokwane City has been postponed.
Sundowns are set to arrive in Nigeria today, to begin their preparations for Lobi Stars, with Pitso Mosimane confirming on Saturday just how crucial it is to manage their players in the month of January, as they are facing a packed schedule in all competitions.
“Sometimes I must save the players because as from today (Saturday) we play every three days, there is only a gap of four days that we don’t play football and that will be when we are travelling in Africa, so for me I think there is about 32 games to play, it’s a league, so the league has started, with travelling, with injuries,” Mosimane told the media after their 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
“Keeping Themba Zwane away a little bit because his injury is not yet there, Wayne Arendse has got a calf, Denis Onyango could have played but, there are six games coming this month and we are travelling and we need Denis Onyango,” he added.
