Mamelodi Sundowns cruised through to round one of the CAF Champions League competition, after their impressive 7-1 aggregate win.
The Brazilians hosted Leones Vegetarianos at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium last night, with Jeremy Brockie, Gaston Sirino, Themba Zwane, Hlompho Kekana and Lyle Lakay all getting on their score-sheet in an impressive 5-1 victory against their rivals from Equatorial Guinea.
Now, alongside their league rivals, Orlando Pirates, who also progressed through to the next round, the Brazilians will continue their fight on the African continent, with Sundowns’ opponents for the next round since being revealed.
Sundowns will lock horns with Libyan outfit, Al Ahly Benghazi in the first round of the CAF Champions League competition, with the fixtures scheduled to be underway this month.
The Brazilians had their league encounter against Maritzburg United postponed after it clashed with their return leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
However, the Chloorkop-based club will return to league action next week, as they face off with Baroka FC on December 11.
