Chiefs To Play Raja In Durban
Kaizer Chiefs will play the first leg of their CAF Champions League tie against Moroccan giants, Raja Casablanca at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
According to a source close to the Naturena-based side, the club has decided to stage the fixture in KwaZulu-Natal, which will take place on the weekend of 13-15 March.
The source explained that the Chiefs management want to give their supporters in all the provinces the opportunity to watch the Amakhosi in the Champions League.
"The game will be played in Durban. This is just one way of saying thank you to all our supporters in the country. We want to play in as many provinces as we can.
“You know everywhere we play is a home ground for us hence we want to play where it's good," the source said.
Chiefs knocked Botswana side, Township Rollers out of the continental show piece, with a 3-1 aggregate scoreline (2-1 at home & 1-0 away) ensuring their passage to the next round and securing the clash with Raja.
