CAF: Next Round Breakdown

South Africa will have three representatives in the next round of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup tournaments that takes place next month.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns both made it through into the first round of the CCL qualifying stage after wins over Township Rollers and St Michel United respectively, while Orlando Pirates received a bye into the CCC’s equivalent round.

About 32 teams will battle it out in the next round of the CCL and CCC tournaments with 16 in each competition looking to go one step closer to the group stages.

Both the Amakhosi and Masandawana face stiff competition in the shape of Morocco’s Raja Casablanca and TP Mazembe of DRC, while Orlando Pirates can be slightly more confident after being pitted against Uganda’s URA.

The first leg of the respective ties will take place on the weekend of the 13-15 of March, while the second will be played the next month between the 3-5 of April.
